the shoe...
my magazines for the month of May have been pouring in...
I opened up one and was looking at the outfits and and in one photo a model was wearing these shoes...
I became addicted at looking at them..
I tracked them down because I had decided that they must be mine..
the color, the heel, the way it cinched around the ankle... swoon
then devastation..... the asking price.. $680!
when do you get to the point in your life that you are like, oh those are only $680..no problem..
sigh...guess I will just go back to looking at the photo...

Hailie says yes..
Then Luke bends over and gives her a kiss and then me a kiss and says, "Good, because my two beautiful girls need good night kisses"
where he gets this stuff I have no idea but baby boy you MELT Mommy's heart.......

entryway shelf...
Pretty blank entry way right...
No worries, I had plans..
I saw this and knew it would be perfect to make for that space...
one problem though, we have never really built anything before...
off to Home Depot we went with our supply list and measurements in hand...
Got home and got started...
we decided to go with mdf instead of wood like they suggested..
we were being lazy.. it was already sanded and primed...
Hailie was busy reading her baby stories..
and Luke was busy building like daddy....

what do you think?

I am so happy with the results!
I am still playing with the styling though and now I have to find the perfect bench to go underneath too..
I am hooked..you can really make anything... this shelf would probably have retailed for at least $200 at Pottery Barn..
we actually already had the white paint...
so the project ended up costing us $63..
most of that spent on the hooks I wanted.. and it could have been even cheaper if we would have used wood instead of mdf..

first day of spring
called for a project..
I had been eyeing the cute speckled eggs for sale everywhere..
they seemed kind of pricey and I had been noticing on several other blogs everyone had been trying their hands at making them on their own...
so one package of 99 cent eggs..
some paint I had in the house...a toothbrush..
and here are the results

not bad for only costing me 99 cents.. I am happy
I was planning on making some blue and pink but then I ended up loving the tan..
also next time I would definitely use spray paint, I just didn't have any and was trying to keep the project cheap..
