Happier Post...

So I thought after yesterday this post should be a little more cheerful...
My Goodness how did Kyle and I get to 10 years already?

These lovelies were delivered to my office with a sweet note from him... they are gorgeous.. my grainy cell phone picture and artificial office light don't do them justice....

Also to add to my nice day today the car in front of me at my Drive Thru Starbucks paid for my drink this morning... Apparently the Starbucks lady told me there is some kind of pay it forward phenomena going on there... It started awhile back with someone paying for the drink of the car behind them..then the Starbucks lady noticed a couple days later that the person that got their drink paid for them then bought the car behind them their drink.. and so on and so on.. this has been going on for several months now she said..nice to know that there are still cool people out there.. so next time I go I shall being paying it forward.. (or in this case behind..hehe)
AND THEN low and behold ASU Financial Aid Department called me this morning and my "package" has been approved and the funds awarded.. yipee..I am now enrolled in two classes,
Diversity Across Cultures and Religion In America.. should be interesting.. wish me luck and I have my fingers crossed that after 12 years of no school that I will be able to handle taking two classes...

Venting...

WOW.. the frustrations I have had this past week have been insane..
Bare with me...
Long Post..
Deep Breath...
School:
Suppose to start an online class on March 16..
Have no idea on what process I am to follow as the last time I attended college was in 1997 ..
Advisor sends me Checklist to show classes that I need to enroll in online that are still open..
I find out my financial aid has not been awarded yet.. tells me she will hold class..
Call Financial Aid Department two weeks ago they tell me will push through my "package" and everything should be fine on Tuesday of last week... EVERY day since last week I have been calling and everyday I get a different answer.. then I find out today that in order to receive financial aid I have to enroll in TWO classes.. Umm would of been nice if someone told me this when I asked how many hours I had to take in order to receive financial aid, and the answer was "oh, you just have to take one".. I have yet to talk to ONE person at ASU that seems to know what the (bleep) is going on which blows my mind as they do this everyday as their JOB...
Still today am not sure what I am going to do as Advisor tells me not to sign up for class until financial aid goes through and Financial Aid Department tells me they will get back to me... and to go ahead and sign up for two classes..
Bridesmaid dresses:

I adore my sister and God Bless her for having wayyy to many Bridesmaids and trying to please them all.. a decision has FINALLY (after 2 months of searching and changing minds) been made.. it is the one on the left in this picture.. It is designed by Bari Jay and online there is a different price and color selection listed then the stores that carry the line are stating are available..my poor sister has been trying to just track down a swatch color and price so we can get the dang things ordered and we get different answers every single time.. Even an email to Bari Jay comes back with a "Please contact a designated store to find out pricing and color selections"

Bari Jay that is what we have been trying to do and NO ONE seems to know, even though again this is their JOB...

Anniversary:

What on earth do you get your husband for your ten year anniversary when you both agree no presents..

So I saw this cute tutorial for these pillow cases here.. so I thought since he sometimes uses this corny line on me it might be a cute little thing to do for him... Go to Joanne's buy the transfer paper for 6 bucks..go to Marshalls and get nice white pillowcases for 7 bucks.. okay doing good so far.. then I bring the transfer paper to work so I can print it out on our color printer at work..(I know I am not suppose to do this BUT Kyle and I don't own a printer and we barely just bought a new laptop.. I know give me a break) so put the paper in the printer hit print and the ***** paper gets stuck in the printer... and get this BREAKS the printer... great... don't tell anyone at work okay.. so I had to call the help desk and now they are sending someone out to bring a new part to fix the printer.. AHHH.. how am I going to explain this one..

Now I am just frickin going to make him brownies (his favorite) and a nice dinner tomorrow night...geez.. at least we have the kids staying over at Grandma's (Thanks Kathy!) for the weekend and have some nice things planned to do.

And then on top of all of this my entire family has come down with the crud.. coughing..fevers.. head and chest feel like they weigh a ton.. body aches..

Road Trip...

Up to Prescott we drove to celebrate my Nonie turning 80! We decided to go up early so we could take a little hike. It was such a beautiful and relaxing drive up to Thumb Butte.. We had the windows down... there is absolutely nothing better then the smell of the forest and snow...
We got to the hiking spot with our favorite hiking guide, Uncle Lance..
The scenery was breathtaking...
and the kids had a blast throwing snow balls!
When we were exploring we cam across this HUGE snowman..
Kyle modified him a bit ...
so of course that prompted the kids to make a snowman of their own..
ours not so tall..hehe I think it was barely 6 inches...weak I know...
Then it was time to toast the party girls! Happy 80th Birthday Nonie!! We love you so very much! And Happy 85th Birthday to Aunt Jo! We love you too!

It was so crazy seeing the kids sitting in these chairs.. the same ones my cousins and my sister and I sat in when we were little..truly vintage..
We had a great visit and are planning another trip up where we can take the whole day and hike Thumb Butte. The kids are really getting into this whole hiking thing.. might have to invest in some real hiking shoes for them!

Lately our house has been filled with Knights and Faries......

So we thought a trip to the Renaissance Festival would be fun....
This was our first time going so we weren't exactly sure what to expect
One of the main reasons we went was so Luke could see a joust..
He was really excited as we were waiting for the show to begin

I was more intrigued in watching this guy sell pretzels..

The joust was pretty entertaining..Luke loved it, but Hailie Girl wasn't so sure about it..
When we were leaving the jousting show I asked Hailie how she liked it and she kind of looked up at me weird like she was trying to think of something nice to say and then she said, "the ponies were pretty... "

so cute

Then Luke and Hailie got to experience their own joust!
a butterfly ride for Hailie..then a turkey leg for Luke completed our fun filled day at the Reniassance..
