Introducing my new summer wallet..

So I had this great Hinemosu Notari fabric that was destined to become a cute summer bag for me.. I haven't gotten the motivation to start that project yet, but as I was cruising Etsy I came across this great shop Cotton Purr... she is very talented and makes great bags, wallets, and coin purses.... so I sent her a convo to see if she would be interested in making me a custom wallet and coin purse with this fabric.. she was so nice and easy to work with... off my fabric went to her in the mail..
and back it came in this cute packaging...

in the form of this coin purse and wallet.. Aren't they great??!!
she has some mad skills too.. her sewing is impeccable...
LOVE....
go check out her shop...

We pulled a fast one on you sis...

Erins husband flew my sister out here under the assumption that she was coming for a surprise party for Erin's birthday... but we lied... hehe

we were having a surprise bridal shower for her..

the surprised bride to be and Erin.. her maid of honor/best friend aka..sneaky party planner
the sweet spread...roxy doing her thing at the lingerie party...we framed one of Mel's cool wedding invites... the honeymoon money tree...

the raffle prizes.. Sprinkle cupcakes...

the takeaways....
bubblegum game.. man we have some talented relatives and friends..look at that newspaper dress..
the present opening... she got a lot of very cute lingerie.. one of her friends suggested a cute thing to do..when they go on their honeymoon to put each piece of lingerie in a box and set all the boxes out and then each night have Mike pick out a box and that is what she puts on for the night.. these young girls are getting good..

the ribbon bouquet.. Luke made her the paper heart to put on our present..he was mad he couldn't come, try explaining that one to a six year old, so he decided to make her something instead..
we did meet up with the kids for dinner after the shower and just look at how excited they were to see Auntie Melissa when we pulled up!

We love you Mel.. can't wait till the wedding!!

Now that it is 105...

gotta love az...

I went hunting in the freezer section for something that would make me forget the heat..
and looky here what I found...
yummy I think is the word...it hits all the right tastebuds..salty, chocolately, smooth, sweet, refreshing..cold (which is the important part in ice cream)
just found it three weeks ago and I can't even tell you what number pint I am on.. Kyle even likes it and that says something right there that this is special...so very special..okay I will quit.

then I was reading littlebrownpens blog today and what do you know, she posted about an Etsy store that she stumbled on called Galipette..

they sell these amazing caramels that they create.. they both went to Cordon Bleu in Paris..which is crazy coincidence as I am reading the book The Sharper Your Knife The Less You Cry (thanks Becci!)
about a womans experience in Paris while attending Cordon Bleu in Paris..it is such a great book, I can't put it down...

anyways, I bought myself a box...
I will just be sitting inside my air conditioned house looking out the window eating my Haagen Dasz waiting for my caramels to arrive, if anyone was wondering...

birthday goodness..

came home yesterday from work and found this lovely in my bedroom!
the Ikea mirror I have been wanting... so excited.. just ignore me..

then was told to stay upstairs...
until the kids came running up to come and get me..
then I came down to find this...

so adorable.. a Barbie Princess party just for me!
(please don't look at those vertical blinds.. just look at my cute kids..I am in the process of working on getting rid of those god awful things..)

Kyle served us Rubios..one of my favorites
and then for my birthday dessert...
my most favoritest ever.. Paradise Bakery cookies ..now this is the important part..
one chocolate chip cookie on top and one white chocolate macadamia nut cookie on the bottom with a ton of vanilla frosting inside..
oh yeah...so yummy!!!!

then I got to open up my presents early... Sat is going to be a bit busy

I got a fancy waffle maker that I am super excited to try out..
a day at the spa.. and some super cool sunglasses..
that picture is from Luke's Mother's Day tea party that the school put on yesterday as well..
that was a tear jerker with all the kids singing and reciting poems and at the end bringing us roses and serving us refreshments..
so sweet of my little family to take such good care of mommy...

early mother's day present to me...

Isn't this the cutest?
Michalle is an extraordinarily talented woman and she has the most amazing Etsy shop
L.J ink..
She did this custom print that captured me with Luke and Hailie... she was so incredibly nice and fantastic to work with and she really has a passion to make sure that you get exactly what you envision...
I adore it... go shopping in her shop.. I promise you won't be able to buy just one print..

six...

so I had envisioned this pirate party complete with a treasure hunt, make your own pirate swords.. and finishing strong with a pirate singing Happy Birthday to Luke and cutting the cake with a sword...

Then a funny thing happened.. my son asked if we could have his party somewhere fun like peter piper pizza so he can play games with his cousins...

Mommy realized it wasn't her party but her six year old's..

I held onto the pirate theme (scaled down big time though) and booked the party package at peter pipers...

The cake..
Grandma Kathy always comes through! It was awesome!

The table decor... every bone in my body screamed that I needed to have all this creativity attached to his party decorations, but all he wanted was some pirate paper plates and cups and some cool pirate treasure coins...

so that is what the birthday boy got..Not that many pictures as we all had so much fun and I was busy playing my son in air hockey and trying to beat my dad at basketball...
lesson learned: six year olds really do know how to have fun..

Luke got so many wonderful presents and he was so thankful and excited about everything he got..

The first thing we did when we got home was to put together his wooden pirate ship.. he was so excited he could hardly contain himself..

daddy even let him use the power drill.. he is six you know..

my what a project...
but he is so incredibly happy to have a "real pirate ship" to have all his pirate adventures on..

the day ended with one incredibly happy and exhausted six year old pirate boy...
just as he requested..
